New in 2012!
“Reel” has several definitions from a round, cylindrical object to a style of dance to a state of dizziness and disorientation. Welcome to all of the above! This knot goes around and around, joyfully and happily! Russian Reel© is fun and exciting and the newest design to join Peg’s Patches.
While most people today credit all knot-style artwork to the Celtic region, knots are seen all over the world, in almost every culture. The appeal of knotwork is universal. This knot was inspired from the artistry of Russian architect and graphic designer, Yakov Chernikov (1889-1951). The Russian Reel© Knot intertwines two loops of fabric to produce a deceptively easy quilt! This booklet contains thirty-three quilt top options which highlight this fabulous new Russian Reel Knot© design as a central medallion, with sizes ranging from wall Hanging to king bed size and multiple table runners. Eleven of the quilt top designs include the Lip-Locked© knot as an optional pieced border.
